I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist associate.  I am passionate to help you develop and mobilize your inner resources and strengths to meet and conquer daily life challenges. I believe that every difficulty and crisis in life presents us an opportunity to learn and grow by modifying our perspectives and attitudes. My goal is to help you discover your own strengths and resilience in a creative and encouraging environment.

My approach to therapy is relationship-centered where respect, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard are strongly emphasized. I offer a solution-focused and strength-based approach to counseling, as well as use of cognitive-behavioral therapy tools. I tailor my styles and techniques based on what would be most helpful for you. I also use creative and playful therapeutic methods to allow children and adults to express emotions and communicate their needs in unique and interactive ways.

I have experience working with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, postpartum/pregnancy transitions, relational/marital concerns, grief/loss, eating disorders, body-image, and self-esteem issues. I bring my personal multicultural experience and professional diversity training into our healing process.  I specialize in working with international/interracial couples, foreign students/employees, and multicultural families.

My practice is LGBTQ affirming, and all services are available in English and Mandarin Chinese. I am practicing under the supervision of Sherry J. Duson, M.A. LMFT-S, LPC-S.

Other Things About Me

I love spending time with my family when I am not at work.  I play a traditional Chinese instrument called Yang Qin. I enjoy baking, running, weight lifting, and exploring new areas of the city. I am a big believer in self-care and self love. I like to find fun activities to treat myself, such as people watching at a new coffeeshop, trying a new brunch place, or walking around Office Depot to satisfy my organization needs.  This is part of the reason why I am here, I am passionate to help people like you find the energy, positivity, fun, self-love and overall happiness in your life.

I am currently accepting clients in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
